Wonogiri, July 23, 2024 – Dewi Septiarti, a student of KKN Team II Diponegoro University (Undip) majoring in Mathematics, provided material exposure and counseling on financial mathematics for households to the people of Sambeng Hamlet. This event was held in the hall of Sambeng Hamlet on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 10.00 WIB and was attended by PKK women of Sambeng Hamlet.
In her presentation, Dewi as the presenter of the material conveyed the importance of understanding financial mathematics in managing household finances. Organized and planned finances are the main key in achieving family welfare. With good management, every family can manage expenses and income effectively so that they can meet their needs without experiencing financial difficulties.
“With a basic understanding of financial math, every family can make a realistic budget, save wisely, and avoid unnecessary debt. This is very important to achieve financial stability in the household,” explained Dewi Septiarti.
In her interactive session, Dewi provided case examples and scenarios to illustrate how financial math can be applied in everyday life. She also provided tips and tricks to manage household finances more effectively, including how to record expenses, plan monthly budgets, and set aside a portion of income for savings and investment.
The Head of PKK Sambeng Hamlet, Mrs. Sri Rejeki, appreciated the initiative of KKN students to provide counseling on financial mathematics to the hamlet community. The participants were also very enthusiastic and actively participated in the question and answer session and discussion. They asked questions about how to make an effective budget, how to save well, and how to manage debt wisely.
Dewi Septiarti provided informative and in-depth answers to the questions. “With a basic understanding of financial math, every family in Sambeng Hamlet is expected to manage their finances better, so as to achieve financial well-being and stability. In addition, it is also important to educate our children about finance from an early age so that they grow into individuals who are wise in managing money,” he said.
One of the residents of Sambeng Hamlet, Mrs. Wati, stated, “What Dewi has explained is very useful for us. With this knowledge, we can be wiser in managing household finances and avoid financial problems in the future,” Mrs. Wati stated.
With the material presentation and counseling event organized by Dewi Septiarti, it is hoped that the people of Sambeng Hamlet will be more concerned and more informed about the importance of good financial management. The spirit of collaboration between Undip KKN students and the people of Sambeng Hamlet is expected to continue to create a more prosperous and financially stable environment for all community members, especially for the next generation who are wiser in managing finances.
